At 4634 metres, the Dufourspitze is the highest peak in the Valais Alps. A mountain with a fantastic view!
day 1
Individual arrival and ascent to the Monte Rosa hut (2883 m): from Zermatt with the Gornergrat railway to Rotenboden station. Ascent approx. 4.5 hours (400 m ascent).
Day 2
From the Monte Rosa hut via the west ridge to the Dufourspitze 1800 metres above sea level. Total time to Monte Rosa hut 9 hours. Possibly spend another night at the Monte Rosa hut or go straight down into the valley.

- Sure-footedness, a head for heights and fitness.
- Safe and speedy walking and climbing with crampons, difficulty one section UIAA 3
